According to a survey that was done by OCLC Online Computer library Center—the public libraries are offering more DVD’s each day as compared to Netflix. The data is showing that libraries across the US are loaning out up to 2.1 million DVD’s per day. And that word—loaning—that may be the key here. They are free to borrow from the library, and while I would imagine that many libraries will vary—our county system here allows for DVD’s to be kept for one week at a time. Not bad for a free rental. Of course, if its not returned on time then you will get a $1 per day late fee
