Sources familier with the matter have informed the Wall Street Journal that Google is in talks with several game development companies, in a process of developing a social-network based gaming community. This online gaming platform’s first competitor is Facebook as it is the home to thousands of popular online games which are played via the social network’s already-existing community.

The U.S. Senate passed the 2,300-page financial reform bill today (vote was 60 to 39) after more than a year of deliberation. The Obama administration is casting it as a major victory — protecting average consumers from Wall Street excesses . For the most part, senators voted along party lines, with only three Republicans breaking ranks to support the legislation, one of the highest domestic priorities for the Democrats

Wall Street analysts don’t seem as convinced as Cult of Mac’s PR pros that Apple needs to engage in a product recall in order to mitigate the bad publicity its seeing with the iPhone 4 ‘death-grip’ problem . The bad publicity is hitting the mainstream with a vengeance, for example,? “Some say that if you hold him in the wrong way, he doesn’t work properly,” said Jeremy Clarkson on top motoring show, Top Gear, this weekend. (Video above). “To date, we have not seen any overwhelming evidence of iPhone 4 units being returned,” Barclays analyst Ben Reitzes wrote. He thinks concerns at this point are “overblown”, according to the WSJ

Evo 4G shortages hurting Sprint’s 4G network plans

Despite being the first wireless carrier to offer a 4G wireless network — which promises speeds ten times that of 3G — Sprint is finding that increased shortages of its flagship Evo 4G Android smartphone may be hindering its plans for 4G domination, according to the Wall Street Journal . The device is suffering from equipment shortages that have been plaguing the mobile hardware industry for months.
